Agreement

By accessing or using between-roles.com (“Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Between Roles (“we,” “us,” “our”).

What the Service is

Between Roles provides job-search tools including a take-home pay calculator (Pay Analyzer), a resume bullet extraction and storage tool (Skills Database), an AI-powered resume generator (Resume Generator), and related features. Some features are available without an account (Pay Analyzer, Free Trial). Others require a paid subscription (Skills Database, Resume Generator).

Account and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account. You agree to provide accurate information when signing up and to notify us promptly if your account is compromised. Accounts are personal — you may not share or transfer your account.

Subscriptions and payment

Paid features require a subscription. Prices, plan limits, and billing periods are described on the Pricing page. Subscriptions are billed monthly or as a one-time charge depending on the plan selected.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge the payment method you provide. We do not store your payment card information.

Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. One-time plan purchases are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

We reserve the right to change pricing. Material price changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect for active subscribers.

Your content

You retain ownership of the resume content, job descriptions, and generated resumes you create using the Service. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store that content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service to create misleading, fraudulent, or plagiarized resume content
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service
Circumvent usage limits or rate limits
Use the Free Trial more than once per person by using multiple email addresses
Violate any applicable law or regulation in connection with your use of the Service

Disclaimers

Pay Analyzer: Results are estimates based on 2024 tax tables and standard deduction assumptions. They are not tax advice and should not be used for tax filing. Consult a qualified tax professional for tax guidance.

AI-generated content: Resumes and analyses generated by the Service use AI (Anthropic Claude) and may contain errors, omissions, or content that does not accurately represent your experience. You are responsible for reviewing all generated content before submitting it to employers.

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific results will be achieved by using it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost employment opportunities, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections on disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify active subscribers of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
